About Jane Lazar
Jane, an ordained Zen Priest in the Suzuki Roshi lineage, is a certified NARM™ Practitioner and a certified Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP). In 2016 she was on the teaching team in the NARM™ clinical training in healing developmental trauma and is approved as a session provider for the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute (SETI). She has also completed the NeuroAffective Touch™ Foundation training.
For eight years, she taught workshops, offered through San Francisco Zen Center, bringing Somatic Experiencing® principles into the context of mindfulness and spiritual practice. The skills presented involve mindfulness - which is inherent in the both the SE® and NARM™processes.
Jane sees her work as helping others access their full adult capacities as well as their innate healing resources, and thus to be able to meet difficult or pleasant experience with presence and compassion. Jane was a certified trainer in Nonviolent Communication between 1995 and 2000, and holds a blackbelt in Aikido.
“I am drawn to the NARM™ and Somatic Experiencing® processes because of their effectiveness, their deep respect for the healing impulse in all of us, and for the inclusion of the body as a resource for living fully. NARM™ and SE® teach the use of our greatest tool for healing and living—our moment to moment awareness of experience.“ --Jane Lazar
